I know most of us would like to see McNeill and Danault up here sooner rather than later. I think if they are going to get 5-7 minutes per game it probably doesn't do the Hawks or them much good. Playing regularly is probably better for them in the long run. They can still be called up in the event of an injury but to lose playing time there to get Jeremy Morin minutes here won't do them much good.

It is a good thing then that Johns doesn't need to be a savior. None of the kids that will be doing the Rockford Shuttle this year needs to be a savior. This roster doesn't need saviors from Rockford, they need guys that can come up and play solid hockey, contribute, and largely stay out of the way. The team is #2 in GA/G, no savior needed on the backend.

Sure...I will sorta agree with your TvR statement, but he is some not at this point savvy defender or above average transition player and HAS slowed the transition game by poor decisions and never playing at such a high skill and speed level.
You can say the same about the majority of rookies and many NHL low pairing players.
That doesn't mean I am taken a negative stand on his NHL career, but and not going to look past what I think I see. From a fan's perspective, Iit is oh so easy to build high hopes.
The injury looks like a break and a re-injury to a serious past injury...again what I am cobbling from the watching over and over of shot he stopped.

I think I will have to know if Morin is knicked up or not, but maybe they are just going to give him a press box designation until the trade deadline since he would have to pass through waviers to be sent down.

One thing that is certain is the bif four on dee are gonna play lots of minutes, and I think they like to play them.

I just have trouble thinking that they will use the circus trip as a spriungboard for auditions especially since they are looking to get wins and momentum now and not make adjustments to try and find advantageous and shielded opportunities from Rockford players. The guy who can come up and play without being a weak chain link will get more than a look, but there may not be that guy there yet.

Even on the dee...Johns sits until Roszival is gassed.
TvR carved his way so the next Rockford defender will have to do the same...so I don't expect a revolving door philosphy to begin now.

The Rockford shuffle makes sense after reading how LTIR works. With all of the movement they probably opened up 100k in temporary space. What throws me a bit is why you do it with 925k of salary and not 5.9 million. Unless the Hawks at some point do so retroactive to Sharps injury date allowing them to bring up multiple salaries if needed. I guess that is why Stan is a "cap whisperer"

I think that comes to about $2 per fly by.

Someone is trying to build Bick's confidence up... Hope it sells at $7k and he finds 2013 again. Money goes to the USO so the higher the better.

Would Johns even have traveled to Chicago?I highly doubt it unless there was time for him to practice before 10:45 this morning when he was reassigned.Up for under 18 hours and $4300 extra pay,Johns must be liking procedural moves.

JJ, can you or anybody else explain why bringing Johns up for a day does something for the cap? Once #57 went on LTIR, I thought his salary figure (or less) was replaceable.

So who gets the call up? Comiskey? Dahlbeck? Clendening?.....Pokka?

The roster moves in all likelihood were before the LTIR designation of TVR.Somehow this increases the upper limit.

You are correct about it increasing the upper limit, there is an explanation for it on Capgeek.

It is kinda difficult not having the number the time of TVR's injury but
Up were Darling 570k and Nordstrom 616,667
Down were Raanta 750k and I think Regin 650k
the Darling/Nordstrom down
and Johns 800k /Raanta up
There appears to be 1.186,667 brought up and then sent down Darl/Nord
while Raanta/Regin was 1.4 sent down and raanta/johns is 1.55 brought back up prior to Johns sent back down so maybe 150k closer to the upper limit depending on how they do their accounting.

John touched on this point and it shouldn't be overlooked.
Rockford should be playoff bound this year and could make a long run.
It is very important the kids down there feel like winners and experience the pressure of the playoffs. It is very important for the franchise and for the future of Dent as a head coach as well.

It isn't about picking the best Ice Hog but what fits here the best. Nordstrom is well thought of by Q and the OrganIzation as they made him a captain this season. He was brought up for only 1 game while Morin continues to wonder what he needs to do to play more. That was a reward for Nordstrom and if/when Morin is traded he could be here full time.

Cumiskey spent the entire weekend in the press box, and if I'm not mistaken, he did not suit up for a game the weekend before last. I haven't heard about an injury, nor do I believe that there was one. I believe that Dent was trying to get the kids in the line-up to play.

I love that Pokka kid. He's got some skills that everyone will love, and he's capable of being responsible in his own end while being able to contribute on the offensive side. However, we're talking abut a kid who's in his first month of Pro North American hockey. The upside is visible, but he still has some growing to do.

My guess is that calling up Dahlbeck would make the most sense. As Wiz posted yesterday, if Q is looking for a physical guy that can lay some big hits, then Johns makes sense.

McNeill didn't dress Sunday after taking a puck to the ribs on Saturday night. I'm guessing he'll be on the shelf for at least a couple of weeks.
